Therapeutic Wilderness

Therapeutic Wilderness is a way for our practitioners to capitalise on the therapeutic benefits of the forest/ outdoor environment.

We use therapeutic techniques and outdoor learning including bushcraft, woodland crafts, archery and games to meet the social and emotional needs of each child.

Our offer is completely bespoke; we ensure that the child is always at the centre of delivery. We provide regular and consistent contact to influence a child’s wellbeing and development in the rich multi-sensory learning environment of the outdoors.

Our team are highly skilled teachers with specialist skills in working therapeutically.

Our programme supports

  • Growth mindset
  • Emotional regulation
  • Solution-focused approaches
  • Promoting resilience and motivation
  • Emotions are a natural response and guide our behaviours
  • No emotion is unacceptable – only behaviours are

We work with pupils from primary, secondary and pupil referral units in small groups and 1-2-1.
