North East wellbeing offers a confidential school Family Support service delivered by a suitably
qualified and experienced Practitioner. Family Support provides direct parental support to a
range of targeted groups within school, or outside of the school setting, where appropriate.
Support for families is provided through a variety of ways which include improving school
attendance, budgeting, housing issues and promoting positive activities and behaviour.
For example, Practitioners may work with families and schools to discuss and apply appropriate
methods to reward positive behaviour, which includes lots of praise and encouragement
along with modelling positive behaviours, as well as applying appropriate consequences for unacceptable behaviour.

The Family Support service provided by North East Wellbeing is tailored to meet the demands and needs of the school and individual children and their families. The number
of support sessions delivered are negotiated according to the needs of pupils and
families and the structure of the school timetable. The service therefore works flexibly with school timetables whilst ensuring children and their families are provided with
maximum support for their development and progression. Each service is unique and specified for each school, and delivered in accordance with this specification.
